LAURA CALLEEUW
Interior Architect
How growth sometimes starts with someone else
Laura Calleeuw is an interior architect and founder of her own studio in the Roeselare region.
Her introduction to David came in an unexpected way. At the time, she had already been working closely with a client for over a year on a large project. In the beginning, the collaboration was challenging: the client was impatient, tense, and difficult to please.
But over time, Laura noticed something remarkable — that same person became calmer, more balanced, and able to put things into perspective. It was as if he had changed.
Curious, she asked what had happened. His answer was simple:
“I’m working with a mental coach, David Avonture.”
That moment stayed with her. The transformation she saw in her client sparked both trust and curiosity. And because Laura herself felt the need for a sparring partner — someone to reflect with on her work, her decisions, and her way of thinking — she decided to reach out to David.

Growing both rationally and personally
As a self-employed interior architect, Laura often had to make decisions on her own. She was looking for someone to challenge and refine her approach — both on a rational and emotional level.
With David, she worked on time management, efficiency, and growth strategy, but also on her mindset. She learned to deal more consciously with doubt, negative thoughts, and perfectionism.
She also learned to set boundaries — something that doesn’t come naturally in a sector where personal connection with clients is essential. She found the balance between adapting to clients and staying true to her own vision.
“David highlighted my strengths and qualities. What I once took for granted suddenly became a real asset.”

Letting go and building trust
Another key theme in Laura’s journey was learning to let go of control. Where she used to do everything herself, she now works with two permanent team members.
By placing the right people in the right roles, she was able to refocus on what truly gives her energy: designing, guiding, and creating.
This growth also translated into tangible results: her studio expanded, she’s working on a new showroom, gained exposure in several magazines, and will soon appear in a TV program.
The power of ongoing coaching
According to Laura, coaching doesn’t stop after one trajectory. The construction sector remains unpredictable, which is exactly why she finds it important to continuously sharpen her vision and way of thinking.
