JAN BOTERBERG, 35, Football Referee
You gotta jump to be successful!
You can’t imagine the level of pressure someone faces when performing at that level. Pressure from colleagues, players, coaches, supporters, commentators, and the media — even from complete strangers.
Once you reach a certain level, there’s a tendency to become satisfied. But that doesn’t mean you should settle for that level.
The more accurate your thinking, the higher your level of self-respect, the more precise your performance — and the further you can go.

I no longer take into account the opinions of people on the street, the press, colleagues, etc.
Jan Boterberg
Mr. Perfect
Jan had the habit of wanting to do everything perfectly. He absolutely didn’t want to make mistakes. The opinions of others and his perception of himself made him restless. And yet, like many people, he had everything it takes to reach the top in whatever he chose.
Jan was very analytical during the sessions and searched for logic — for a kind of shock effect. The logic was there, but not the shock effect. That’s simply not how the brain works. Only when the Mental Training started did I notice a shift in Jan’s thinking — in his experience.

Being himself
Very gradually, he learned to think differently. He realized that the quality of your thinking is crucial — and that overthinking works against you.
I believe the most important breakthrough for Jan was becoming himself. Learning how to truly do that.
